Candles take care of the twilight
all at sudden a shade of your face
so recognizable, so endlessly reliable
a warm glow, but my heart mourns
so very deep inside the lacerate pain
knowing it will never be "WE" again
now I am I and you are you again
there was no choice, I had to let you free
only a moment it was so real, your face
tears well up, it was only a freak of the light
